Abishek Arora for your CSIE president 2005-2006
JOBS, JOBS, JOBS – That Ryerson’s Engineering program is growing with
each academic year, is no secret. But the services provided to Ryerson’s Engineering students about employment, be it summer
co-op (4 months), Internship (8-16 months) or full time placements for new graduates is still primitive if compared to schools
like University of Toronto and Waterloo. I plan to work in this field aggressively. With your support, I would like to have
an interactive job placement website for IE students, who would like to check out the job market, to as to “test the waters”.
I say its about time.
“Work Hard, Play Harder” policy – What’s with the limited (if not non-existent) sports and socializing
events for IE’s. Pub nights, movie nights, sports events with other faculties and much more. Many IE students are great
athletes and this form of entertainment is not just fun, its important, at least in my opinion.
Training for the workplace
– Interviewing skills, regular resume checkups, cold calling, cover letter skills, work place adaptability etc, for IE students
who would like to be fully prepared for the job market.
Easy Accessibility to YOU – When you vote for my group, and
me, your opinion matters to me. I will be easily accessible to your comments/suggestions through various means of communication.
I hate it when reps., after getting elected simply go into hiding.
Better performance for the IE program at the Industrial
Engineering conference – Incase you haven’t heard, Ryerson’s performance at the Industrial Engineering conference over the
past few years has been mediocre at best. For a highly recognized program, I will put all my efforts to increase participation
and increase the number of awards we win at the conference.
I apologize for this site being so lame; it was built
in a matter of 15 minutes, please contact me at abs008@gmail.com for any questions you might have.
Voting is simple;
you have the following choices 1. Email me your name and year in program and I will send you a reply, which shall make
e-voting a very simple process for you. 2. Do it yourself, watch this space on a 4 step IE department voting procedure.
I will post it by Tuesday morning.
I would like to thank you for your time and patience and look forward to knowing
you better and working with you for an improved Industrial Engineering program at Ryerson.
